Who We Are...

Heritage Homeschool Co-Op of Owasso is a home education support group that was founded in 2006 with a handful of homeschooling families. We have seen steady growth each year and starting out the 2011 school year, we have approximately 70 families in our group. We serve Owasso, Oklahoma and surrounding areas in northeast Oklahoma (i.e. - Collinsville, Claremore, Verdigris Valley, Oologah, Skiatook and Sperry).

Heritage Homeschool Co-Op is Christian in structure and leadership, but open to all for membership. We offer field trips (1-2 p/month), special classes (including P.E., Zumba-tomic for Kids, Art, Geography, Lego Club, Golf Club, and Homeschool Choir), school pictures, fellowship activities, holiday parties, monthly support meetings, Mom's Night Out, family events and special guest speakers - and most of all, encouragement for homeschool families.

We are more of a "social" co-op, rather than an "academic" one, in that we feel our children get most of the formal education they need at home during the week. It is our goal to offer a fun time for moms and kids to get together for support, encouragement and to develop deeper friendships. The majority of the kids in our group range from preschool age to about sixth grade, although we do have several older students, as well, as our group is aging over time together.

Heritage Homeschool Co-Op is dedicated to serving home educating families and friends. In this purely voluntary capacity, we desire to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, promote recognition of Him in all educational subject matter, and encourage parents in training their children “in the way in which they should go.” (Proverbs 22:6)

We are affiliated with the Oklahoma Christian Home Educators Consociation. OCHEC is a statewide organization providing encouragement and support to those who endeavor to faithfully train and educate their children at home. They host the statewide homeschool convention, coordinate Capitol Day, and provide many useful resources for homeschooling families.
